FERPA

Students have certain rights once they turn age 18. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.

FERPA permits Malone University to release directory information about students, and it also requires the University to protect some student information. More details can be learned at the Registrar’s Office  website (or in person there) or on the website of the U.S. Department of Education.
