Bio

Jason Wyse serves as Director of Bands, Coordinator of Instrumental Studies, and Director of Music Educator Preparation at Malone University in Canton, Ohio, where he directs the University Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble, and the Pioneer Spirit Marching Band, while teaching courses in music methods, music theory, instrumental conducting, and applied horn.  Previously, Mr. Wyse was Director of Bands at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School (OH), where he led the 300-member Marching Bees, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Symphonic Gold Band.  He has also served as Associate Director of Bands at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, Director of Bands at Punxsutawney Area High School (PA), and Conductor of the Baldwin-Wallace University Youth Honors Wind Ensemble. Mr. Wyse is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Music Education from Boston University. 

He earned a Master of Music in Wind Conducting from The Ohio State University in 2003 and a Bachelor of Music from Grove City College (PA) in 2001. Mr. Wyse is a member of the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) and the Ohio Music Education Association, and has been recognized as an Ohio Department of Education “Master Teacher,” an honorary member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction.  As a composer and arranger, he is a member of the American Society for Composers and Publishers (ASCAP) and the Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers (CFAMC).  He has written works for wind band, symphonic orchestra, choir, and jazz ensemble.  More information can be found at www.jasonwysemusic.com.
