Mary Jean Surace, MSN, RN, CHSE

Biography

Mary Jean Surace serves at the Coordinator for Clinical Support Services.  In this roles she is responsible for the operations of the Center for Nursing Exploration and Center for Clinical Learning.  With over 25 years of practice experience and 15 years of laboratory and simulation  experience, Mary Jean collaborates with the faculty team to develop and implement hands on experiences for the nursing students.  Her scholarly focus is on grant writing for the department.

Little known fact

Mary Jean never wanted to be a nurse.  Instead, she wanted to be an archeologist but was talked into the nursing field.  She finally fell in love with the profession when she entered the education field. Mary Jean has been to almost 25 Straight No Chaser (acappella) concerts and has written 4 children’s books.  She needs an illustrator to try to get them published – how are you at drawing?
