Application Requirements

Thank you for your interest in applying for admission to Malone University!

It is important that you have successfully completed secondary education requirements, or anticipate completion of the semester prior to enrolling with the University.

To be considered for admission to Malone University, you must submit the following materials:

  1. A completed Malone international application.
  2. Certified copies of original secondary school transcripts must be submitted directly to Malone's dropbox by the registrar of each secondary school, college, or university the student has attended. Transcripts emailed by the student are not official. If you have earned university-level course credits in a foreign country comparable to the course credits in the United States system, you must transfer those credits to Malone University. Malone recommends evaluations from either the Foreign Credit Services of America (FCSA) or the World Education Services (WES). Upon receipt of the evaluation of transcripts from FCSA or WES, Malone University will determine which credits will be applied toward a degree. Please note that no I-20 will be granted unless this requirement is satisfied.

    • If English is your primary language, submit the results of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) or Academic College Test (ACT). Malone University does not use the Writing portion of the ACT or SAT when determining admission decisions or scholarship amounts. Scores must be sent directly from the testing agency. The Malone code for the SAT I is 1439; ACT is 3289. If your unweighted grade point  average for secondary school meets our Test Optional standard and the mode of your education was the English language, the SAT/ACT test may be waived.
    • If English is not your primary language, submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL),the English Language Testing System (IELTS), or the Duolingo English Test. Scores must be verified with the testing agency--please note the following requirements:
      • TOEFL Paper-Based Total: 550
      • TOEFL Computer-Based Total: 213
      • TOEFL Internet-Based Total: 79
      • IELTS: 6
      • Duolingo English Test: 100

Your application will be reviewed after these items have been received and you will be notified with the decision.

When you have been admitted to Malone University, your admissions counselor will email you an affidavit of support that must be signed by a parent, guardian, or sponsor and notarized in your home country. It verifies that you understand the financial obligation of studying in the U.S.

Once you return the signed affidavit, a $2,000 U.S. deposit to Malone University is required in advance of issuance of the I-20 for a student VISA ($200 deposit if Canadian or a United States resident). The deposit is necessary in order to reserve housing and register for classes and will be applied directly to your bill. Malone University requires full payment for each semester before classes begin.

After your deposit is received, the I-20 will be issued to the student who must then apply for a U.S. student visa. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security charges a $350 fee to any international student applying for a visa. The fee will be collected by mail or by credit card online. This fee must be paid before applying for a visa to enter the United States. For more information, click on this link for SEVIS.

Upon receipt of the student visa, travel arrangements may be initiated. Be sure to ask your admissions counselor for the date you must arrive on campus and make your arrangements accordingly.

Scholarships may be available on the basis of academic, music, or athletic merit. Financial Aid awards continue for the typical length of time required to complete a degree program, as long as the student remains in good academic standing and is in compliance with the Malone University Community Agreement.
