Malone BSN graduating class passes NCLEX exam at 100% rate for second year in a row

For the second year in a row, each member of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduating class has passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) on their first attempt, achieving a 100% pass rate. According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, the 2018 national average pass rate is 89.7%.

“We are so proud of our graduates,” said Deb Lee, Dean of the School of Nursing & Health Sciences. “This is an awesome time to be teaching, mentoring, and walking alongside nursing students at Malone. I am thankful for the contributions made by the Malone community to support our students’ transformation in becoming the best nurses they can be for Christ’s Kingdom.”

This is the third time in Malone’s history that every graduate passed the NCLEX on their first attempt – the first achievement occurred in 2005. First time pass rates have steadily climbed over the last several years; in 2017, the class had a 97 percent pass rate.

“I am so grateful for the help and support I received from Malone faculty and staff while I completed my BSN and prepared for the NCLEX,” said Kailee Perkins ’19. “I feel confident in my ability to work in the field as a nurse because of the preparation I received as a Malone student.”
