College costs are an obvious concern for students and their families as they enter the college search process.

As a resource for parents, Malone University is hosting a free financial aid workshop to inform families of the many sources available to them in scholarships, grants, and loans. The online program entitled College Can Be Affordable is scheduled for Thursday, January 27 at 6 p.m.

Pam Pustay, director of financial aid at Malone, who has worked with families for more than two decades, will lead the program.

“In conversations with families during my career, I’ve learned that many students don’t even consider going to college because they assume that the costs will be beyond their ability to pay,” said Pustay. “That is very seldom the case. It is very rewarding to show families that there are local, state, and federal sources of support to help defray college costs, the types of support that are in addition to what the institution provides. In this workshop, I hope to provide that direction they need to move forward in considering attending an institution of higher learning. This is not a program about Malone, this is a program about access to the opportunities that align with earning a college degree.”

The workshop is free but registration is required. To receive the link to the free program, register online.
