The Hoover Foundation makes $750,000 gift to Malone University
The Hoover Foundation has made a gift of $750,000 to Malone University in support of the institution’s Pioneer Park multi-field athletic complex project.
Located adjacent to Route 62 on the Malone campus, Pioneer Park will provide space for intercollegiate competition, club sports, intramurals, and recreation for Malone students. Additionally, the complex can serve as a resource for the Greater Canton community as the site for sports camps, band camps, and youth tournaments.
“The Hoover Foundation has been a faithful and generous supporter of Malone for many, many years,” said Malone President David King. “We cherish the partnership we have with them and are so grateful for the opportunities they have created for our students through their decades of support.”
Phase one of the project is complete with the preparation of the site to accommodate playing surfaces. With the gift from the Hoover Foundation, University officials are hopeful they can secure the remaining fundraising and move forward to complete the project next spring.

Pioneer Park will be a unique venue for competition, recreation, and entertainment for our students, while also serving as support for economic development opportunities in our region. It provides fuel to our conversations with other community partners such as the Canton City Schools, City of Canton, and the Professional Football Hall of Fame.”
