Digital Content Manager
About the position
In support of Malone University’s comprehensive marketing and communications efforts, the Digital Content Specialist will conceptualize, create, and execute digital content for Malone’s marketing website and all social media accounts (for Malone University and the Office of the President).
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the team charged with positioning Malone University as the only Bible-based university in northeast Ohio through writing, editing, photography, web communication, video, social media, and advertising.
- Conceptualize, create, and execute social media strategies across all platforms for both Malone University and the Office of the President.
- Supervise social media ambassador(s) as they cover events and collect social media content
- Write and edit website content in support of University and the webmaster goals and best practices (aligning with optimal SEO performance, etc.)
- With the webmaster, serve as a project manager for development of new online content; work collaboratively with other campus departments to meet strategic goals
- Assist in monitoring the content uploaded to the university website by campus partners to ensure that style and best practices for optimal SEO performance are applied throughout.
- Contribute to data-informed decision-making by studying the University’s Google Analytics reports, SEO data, the performance of social media posts and channels, etc.
- Write and edit content for other communication including press releases, news briefs, print publications, and emails as requested.
- Serve as a first responder with emergency communication as requested by the Director of University Relations
- Assist periodically with University events, especially those externally focused and/or attract media coverage
- Coordinate external photoshoots and content capture sessions as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A bachelor’s degree
- A commitment to the standards and mission of Malone University as expressed in the University’s doctrinal statement, mission statement, and statement of community responsibilities
- A working knowledge of the mechanics and nuances for optimal SEO performance and a passion for creating strategy for digital content that improves the performance of the university website overall
- A working knowledge of best practices in social media platforms and a passion for creating social media content that is meaningful and effective
- Attention to detail is required; a working knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Style is preferred
- Strong written and communication skills
- The ability to self-start, to work independently, and to work collaboratively
- Enjoys working with people and engaging with college students
