Academic Success Program

The Academic Success Program is designed to support students who are on academic probation so they can discover how they learn best.

We want to meet you where you’re at and support you in your academic goals so that you can be successful in and out of the classroom.

For some students that means enrolling in Gen 101, a two credit elective course that refines skills like study techniques, note-taking, test-taking, and communication with your professors so that you’re ready for a rigorous college journey. For other students, it might simply mean peer mentoring or accessibility services.

Either way, the Center for Student Success staff will work with you on a weekly basis to make sure that your needs are met. Our goal is to empower you to advocate for yourself and help you understand your academic gifts so that you can contribute to the Malone community.

For incoming and current students, ASP was launched in the fall of 2020. In fall 2020 and fall 2021, 100% of program participants were academically eligible to return for the following spring semester. In spring 2021, 80% of those participants returned for spring classes, and in spring 2022, 95% of program participants returned for spring classes.

Once your semester GPA meets the requirement, you no longer need to be enrolled in ASP. However, regardless of your academic standing, the Center for Student Success is always available to meet your academic needs while you are enrolled at Malone.
