Davenport Derby

See it for yourself on Wednesday, September 21, 2022!

How many colleges race decorated couches every year? In that arena, Malone stands along with one of the, perhaps the, most unique traditions on any campus. 

The annual Davenport Derby kicks off the fall semester, and the event harkens all the way back to the 1950s when Malone students raced beds up and down the street.

Fast forward to today, and this competition of the couches celebrates Malone student's creativity with themes, coordinated entrances, music, costumes, and, of course, sublime sofas tearing down the racetrack on wheels.
