Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a campus ministry seeking a biblical understanding of community and cultural engagement through SFO’S, seminars, small group discussions, outreach, and more. Events are open to Malone students, faculty, and alumni.  Ubuntu  facilitates Sitting At The Table, a lifegroup that evaluates the biblical definition of community.

As a community, Ubuntu offers a safe space for students to share their diverse cultural and religious experiences.

As a ministry, Ubuntu promotes the idea that every human being is created in the image of God (Genesis 2:18).  We understand the importance of loving our neighbors the way Jesus did.

Esther Elliott, a senior history major, originally founded Ubuntu in the Fall of 2021 to provide a space for African and African-American students to unite. In 2022,  the group was expanded to unite people of all cultures while incorporating a Christian focus.
