Romania

May/June 2023

Students will spend 2-3 weeks in Sighisoara, Romania, a historical medieval city, known as the birthplace of Vladimir Tepes (known as Dracula). You will experience the local culture through hands-on learning experiences and living with host families. You will serve with Veritas Sighisoara, a Christian ministry that serves at-risk children, their families, older adults, and people with disabilities. While serving, you will work alongside local Romanian leadership and learn about a model of missions and community development ministry that emphasizes local leadership.

This trip is led by Elizabeth Patterson Roe, Ph.D., who lived and served with Veritas Sighisoara for six years prior to becoming a Malone faculty member.

Students should register for SOSC 212A in Spring of 2023 and SOSC 213A in Fall of 2023 for Pendle Hill and GEN ED credit.

Proof of COVID vaccination is required for all trip participants.
