Adjunct Faculty: Director of Bands and Instrumental Coordinator

Position: Adjunct Faculty, Department of Music, Instructional Specialist
Status: Part time, 25-29 hours per week
Starting Date: August 2023

About the position 

The Director of Bands and Instrumental Coordinator will provide leadership for instrumental programs, including directing ensembles and overseeing applied lessons. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

● Direct instrumental ensembles:  Symphonic Band and Jazz Band
● Lead rehearsals and plan and preparation for concerts
● Assist in the planning of Christmas at Malone
● Oversee applied lessons and instrumental studios
● Evaluate scholarship auditions
● Launch and direct a Steel Drum Ensemble
● May include opportunities for private lessons and teaching traditional courses.

Qualifications

● Masters in Music (with an emphasis in directing or music education)
● Experience directing instrumental ensembles
● Experience teaching private lessons 
● Commitment to the Christian Faith
